Cricket Formats and Tournaments
Cricket's three international formats — T20, ODI and Test — each have their own rhythm, and the betting experience differs accordingly. T20 matches generally finish within three hours, so markets change quickly. In ODIs, overall strategy across fifty overs has more influence. Test matches run for five days — here, pitch conditions, weather and session play can shift the direction of betting.
In terms of tournaments, BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are the most familiar to Bangladeshi fans. Beyond these, T20 World Cup and ICC series also have betting markets. Bangladesh Tigers' international matches — especially home games at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla — always draw extra interest.
Alongside cricket, kkk has football and a few other sports markets. Cricket offers far more market variety though — not just match winner, but over-by-over and ball-by-ball options too. In football, match winner, handicap and goals markets are the most popular.
Popular Betting Markets
In cricket betting, a market means the specific thing you are betting on. Below is a brief introduction to the six most commonly used markets.
Match Winner
Bet on which team will win the match. For example — if you pick Team B in a match between Team A and Team B, your bet wins if Team B wins.
Toss Betting
Bet on which team will win the toss. This is settled independently and does not depend on the match result.
Top Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs for their team. Bet on who will be the highest run-scorer among Team A's batters.
Total Runs Over/Under
Bet on whether the combined runs by both teams will be more (over) or less (under) than a set number. For example — line is 310.5 runs; if both teams score 320 combined, 'over' wins.
Multi Bet
Combine multiple selections together. If you pick teams in three separate matches, all of them must win — if one loses the entire bet is lost, but if all win the return is much higher.
Run Handicap and First Wicket
In handicap markets, the weaker team is given an artificial run advantage. 'Runs before first wicket' is also popular — how many runs will be scored before the first wicket falls.
A Simple Way to Understand Odds Formats
Betting sites display odds in three formats: decimal, fractional and American. All three convey the same information in different ways. The two examples below make the difference easy to understand.
| Situation | Decimal | Fractional | American |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team A winning chance (underdog) | 2.25 | 5/4 | +125 |
| Team B winning chance (favourite) | 1.80 | 4/5 | -125 |
Example 1 — Betting on the underdog (Team A)
Decimal odds of 2.25 mean — a winning ৳1,000 bet returns ৳2,250 in total (profit ৳1,250 + original ৳1,000). Fractional 5/4 says the same thing — for every 4 units wagered, 5 units profit. American +125 means ৳100 wins ৳125. If the bet loses, the full ৳1,000 is gone.
Example 2 — Betting on the favourite (Team B)
Decimal 1.80 means a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 (profit ৳800). American -125 means you bet ৳125 to win ৳100 — negative odds indicate a favourite.
Multi Bet Example
Combining three selections at decimal odds of 1.40, 1.50 and 1.60 gives combined odds of 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.60 = 3.36 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳336 if all selections win. If one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
Odds Change When a Wicket Falls
In-play or live betting means placing bets while the match is ongoing. Odds change with every ball, every wicket and every over. kkk's cricket live markets allow you to make quick decisions as the game unfolds.
- If runs come quickly during the powerplay, 'total over' odds shift — those who chose under feel the pressure.
- If two wickets fall in quick succession, the batting team's match winner odds lengthen — meaning their chances of winning are shown as lower.
- In the final five overs, if the batting team needs a lot of runs, odds in the 'next over runs' market move fast.
- If the match is interrupted due to rain or bad light, the DLS method may apply — live markets are temporarily suspended during this time.
- If cash out is available, you can take a partial return before the match ends — one way to reduce risk.
Some Advice on Staying Careful with Betting
Cricket betting is a form of entertainment — enjoy it within a budget that suits you rather than treating it as a source of income. For more information on responsible betting, visit the responsible gaming page.
Set a Budget in Advance
Decide how much you will bet before each session. If you find yourself going beyond the limit, take a break.
Focus on One Market First
Start with simpler markets like match winner or total runs to build experience. Gradually try other markets over time.
Stay Aware of Pitch and Weather Conditions
Pace bowlers tend to have an advantage on grassy pitches; spinners dominate on dry ones. This basic knowledge helps in reading the markets.
Track Odds Movements
Odds move fast in live markets, so check the latest odds before deciding. It may not be possible to bet at older odds.
